Building leaders: QuestPro’s Inaugural Academy Strengthens LBTIQ Women’s Leadership Across Africa

QuestPro recently held its inaugural Leadership Academy, bringing together LBTIQ women activists from East and West Africa in an empowering and transformative program. The academy, the first of its kind, is designed to enhance leadership skills and organizational effectiveness for women who are at the forefront of advocating for LBTIQ rights across Africa.

This intensive training program centered around four key pillars: safety and security, leadership, organization management, and governance. Recognizing the unique socio-political challenges LBTIQ women face, the curriculum was tailored to provide strategies for navigating cultural sensitivities and mobilizing both local and international support networks. By the end of the program, participants had not only developed crucial leadership skills but also fostered meaningful connections with fellow activists, strengthening the collective movement for equality.

Participants from East and West Africa engaged in workshops, discussions, and practical exercises that provided them with actionable insights and tools for driving positive change within their organizations and communities. The diverse representation within the academy created a rich platform for exchanging ideas, experiences, and strategies, underscoring the power of regional collaboration.

QuestPro has made it clear that this is not a one-off initiative. The Leadership Academy marks the beginning of a long-term commitment to support and mentor these remarkable women on their leadership journeys. Moving forward, QuestPro will continue to engage with participants, providing ongoing guidance and resources to ensure their leadership growth and community impact.

With this academy, QuestPro reaffirms its commitment to empowering LBTIQ women across Africa, ensuring they have the tools, networks, and confidence to lead and advocate effectively in their local and global contexts.
